About Dr. Stiffler

Dr. Stiffler was awarded a Presidential Fellowship by the University of Georgia graduate school and earned her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from their APA-accredited Educational Psychology program in 2008. Previously, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Stiffler provided assessment and therapeutic services to children and adolescents in a multitude of settings, including the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Rutland Comprehensive Academy (a specialized school serving students who have severe emotional and behavior problems), the School Psychology Clinic at the University of Georgia, and Gwinnett County Public Schools.

She completed an APA -accredited pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral program at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Following the completion of her graduate studies, Dr. Stiffler worked as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) with Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District for three years. During her time there, Dr. Stiffler provided assessment, counseling, and consultation services, developed behavior intervention plans and aided in implementing classroom behavioral interventions, completed functional behavioral analyses, as well as conducted parent/teacher/intern training sessions and seminars.

Dr. Stiffler further explored her passion of child/adolescent assessment by co-writing a book entitled Mental Health Screening at School: Instrumentation, Implementation, and Critical Issues. It was published in 2015 by Springer Publishing. She continued her work as an LSSP with Humble Independent School District from January 2017 until June 2019 at which time she made the decision to open her own practice focused on the psychological and psycho-educational assessment of children and adolescents. Her familiarity and knowledge of Texas school systems allows her to have a unique skill set and perspective in supporting children, adolescents, and families as she continues to collaborate with community and educational systems in order to maximize individual success through her private practice.

Dr. Stiffler is a New Jersey native who has called Texas home since 2007. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has three perfectly imperfect children who teach her on a daily basis to appreciate and nurture the uniqueness and beauty that resides within every child.

The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.
